Applicable Standards
Water used for mixing & curing should be clean & free from injurious amounts of oils, acids, alkalis, salts, sugar & organic materials or other substances that may be deleterious to concrete or steel. Potable water is generally considered satisfactory for mixing concrete.
Curing is a vital process for durability of concrete. Efficient water curing should be commenced as soon as concrete starts hardening i.e. no nail/thumb impression on freshly laid concrete. It should be continued for 7-10 days.
